Take just the cash you intend to spend on alcohol, tips and whatever loose change you intend to lose and keep the remainder behind.

Cynical? Not really. Practical more like. You may well discover a win after a boozy night out with your buddies and be fortunate enough to catch a marathon roll at a smokin craps table. Hold on to that story because it is as brief as it gets if you constantly drink and gamble. The two simply don’t mix.

Keeping your money at home is a bit excessive, however precautionary actions for drastic behavior is proportionate and necessary. If you compete to win, then don’t drink and wager. If you can afford to throw away your money without a second thought, then drink all the free booze your stomach can hold, but don’t take bank cards and checks to throw into the mix of chasing losses after your drunk as a skunk brain squanders all the cash!
